And now, I have created something like its evolved (or maybe slightly weirder) version, the P315 DONATTEN.
The most noticeable design feature is the big ring-shaped frame, which came from enlarging the red-circled part on the Tsuntsun.
It uses a system that the releaser pushes the rubber bands upward to release them. It inherits the multi-shot system from the P305 TSUN-TSUN, The position and angle of the releaser change depending on how many bands are left. There are 10 notches at the top of the frame, which serve as holding points for the rubber bands.
The releaser, which protrudes from the rear end of the hold, is under constant spring tension to return to this position.
Before loading the rubber bands, the releaser needs to be positioned at the front of the hold. To facilitate this, a locking mechanism has been added, so unlike the TSUN-TSUN, there is no need to hold it down with a finger the whole time.
Once all 10 rubber bands are loaded and the locking knob is pushed up, the releaser leans against the first band, completing the releasing preparation.
From there, just pull the trigger.
The releaser, linked to the trigger, first pushes up the rubber band, then immediately snaps forward to release it.
After releasing, the releaser quickly leans against the next band, ready for the next shot.
At first glance, it may be difficult to distinguish the trigger and the grip. The round part is the trigger, and the brown section with anti-slip grooves is the grip.
Here is the other side. It is mostly symmetrical, except for the releaser locking mechanism.
That strange-looking part at the back? It is actually a hook for holding spare rubber bands.
There are three pinholes so operator can adjust the tension of the releaser spring.
The outer panels are made of maple, the grip is black walnut, and the reddish core is Japanese zelkova. Other mechanical parts are made from beech and birch plywood, depending on the need.
